Nutrition Weight Loss Symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome
My name is Christine Marquette and I am aregistered dietitian with Austin Regional and I am going to talk to you aboutsymptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. The most common symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndromeor IVF are diarrhea, nausea, constipation, and bloating. However, this is a syndromethat has been associated with other conditions. Often times people with IVS will also experiencedepression or anxiety. Some people with IVS may not actually experience diarrhea, theymay also experience constipation so that is another possible symptom. Other people willhave what is called cyclic IVS meaning that they alternate between days of having diarrheaand days of having constipation. So mainly
with having IVS the typical symptoms startin the digestive area again caused possibly by foods but they could also be caused bystress. They could also be caused by something in the immune system so the way the symptomsactually present themselves will be slightly different in each individual. Often it iscomorbid with other things such as headaches, migraines, some people will experience fibromyalgiaas well. Being a syndrome again that means it has a lot of particular symptoms that canbe comorbid for this particular condition but the most common ones do involve the digestivetract either intestinal cramping, bloating, diarrhea or constipation.
